Gilpin County Search And Rescue (Gilpin SAR) provides numerous training opportunities for members, including:

Tracking, CPR, First Aid, Navigation, Communications, Mountain Weather, Winter Travel, Avalanche Safety, Snowmobile Operations and Maintenance, Working with Search Dogs, Rope Management, and Swift Water Rescue.

Our classroom training sessions occur on the second monday of each month at 7pm. Classroom sessions are conducted at the Apex Station, located at Apex Valley Road, off Mile Marker 9 on Hwy 119. Maps

Our field training sessions are usually conducted on Saturday following the classroom session. For field training, we meet at the Apex Station no later than 9am.

New recruits are welcome at all classroom training sessions.
